Affordable Textbooks Campaign Coordinator
Textbooks are too expensive! In fact, the average student pays $1,137 for textbooks every year. Here at UMD, we want to let our professors and administrators know about more affordable options like open source textbooks. Open source textbooks are free online, affordable to print, and of the same quality as your traditional textbooks. On Halloween Day, MaryPIRG will be holding a Textbook Graveyard complete with Zombie volunteers. We'll be collecting photo petitions from students in front of our graveyard of books who have passed (Textbooks that you can't sell and can't reuse at the end of the semester). Come join us, and wear your costume!
