Yesterday we released a new report, Transportation and the New Generation: Why Young People are Driving Less and What it Means for Transportation Policy, that shows that young people in particular are decreasing the amount they drive and increasing their use of transportation alternatives.

US PIRG held a huge press conference with Senator Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and Rep. Joe Courtney (D-Conn.) and coalition partners on March 13th. At the press conference, we delivered 130,000 petitions to Congress to urge them to not double student interest rates in July. We also got 465 media hits nationwide on the event!
